Hi, we’re Wayne and April, two travellers who love nothing more than exploring the world and seeking out new cultures and adventures. Chasing Paradise was started as a creative outlet for us to share our experiences and hopefully inspire people to get out there and explore the world themselves!

Since being bitten by the travel bug in Southeast Asia back in 2013, I have been obsessed with travel. That was also the first time I picked up a camera, and I have been honing my skills ever since with the dream of one day having a photo published in National Geographic.
I’m also a front-end web developer, I love anything tech-related, and I watch Marvel movies over and over again, so basically I’m a massive geek.

I first donned my backpack in 2004 when I headed off on an around-the-world trip through Southeast Asia, Egypt, South Africa and Europe. Back then, you considered your paper flight tickets as gold, carted stacks of CDs and film rolls around with you, and since smartphones weren't a thing, you grabbed a paper map and went off exploring on foot. Since then, the world has only become more connected and easier to explore but the one thing I still have with me is my insatiable need to experience the world and all of its marvels.
As a writer and wildlife conservationist, I'm obsessed with the small details that make something unique and I care deeply about what we can each do in this world to protect the planet and the creatures we have the privilege of sharing it with.
Why did we start Chasing Paradise?
Between us, we have visited over 40 countries and have clocked up years of travelling time. We have explored the Australian outback, tasted the exquisite flavours of Asia, chased the northern lights across Norway, photographed the 'Big 5' in Africa, and so much more. Throughout this time, we have gained a wealth of knowledge on travel and living abroad and shared this advice with friends, family and people we have met along the way. But now, we thought it was time to share that advice with the rest of the world!
We are both creative people and wanted an outlet to share our passions for photography and writing. This was somewhere we could do exactly that, a place to write down our thoughts, share travel stories, compile travel guides and even showcase photos that haven’t quite made it to our social media channels.

Travel articles will be updated on this website as quickly as we can write them, but for our day-to-day travels, you can follow us on Instagram, where we will post things as they happen. We will also share our favourite photos from places that we go to and even compile the odd reel when we can find the time. You can also follow us on our own Instagram profiles, where we share things that are more personal to us and exhibit our more personal tastes in photography.
